From our beginning back in 1890, Millers has been actively involved in the community. We feel it is important to give back to the community through charitable donations, board involvements and sponsorships. In addition to
our corporate role, we encourage our employees to be actively involved in the community through various civic improvement programs.
We make it a priority to be personally involved in a number of activities. For example, over the past year, we participated in Bowl for Kids Sake with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the
Capital Area; rode in the Tour de Belt, a 20-plus mile bike ride for the benefit of the Harrisburg Area Greenbelt, a park system which encircles the city; donated regularly to the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank; and raised funds for the United Way.
In addition, we remain personally committed to the United Way Day of Caring. Every year, approximately six employees are loaned to the United Way for a day of service work. This year we put a coat of paint on the American Lung
Association office.
We also raise funds for the American Cancer Society, through Daffodil Days, and breast cancer awareness, by supporting the Lee National Denim Day. In addition, many of our employees are involved in civic nonprofit boards for community development.
As a company, we place a priority on helping to improve the community in which we do business. We view that not only as a corporate commitment, but our responsibility.
